Ground Zero

Simon and I are now in the small coastal village of Huatulco, ground zero for the 2nd version of the 6 day, 765 km TransMexicana mtb race. The gun is ready to go off in just over 12 hours and the Mexicans are looking scared.

Throughout the race I will be doing daily reports for Sleepmonsters which can be viewed at www.sleepmonsters.com

Time to roll…….

  1. Well I’ve followed your reports via Sleepmonsters and what an adventure/race!! Good reporting! The dog chases and bathroom races really bring a lot of colour to the scene! The island cup series starts next Sunday here on the island. These should be a walk in the park if you decide to stop by for one. 🙂 Albeit boring by comparison.

  2. Great race, to bad everyone got sick.I could almost picture you guys trying to out run the wild dogs and way to rebound after that sick day on stage 2.How does La Ruta compare( food wise )is there stomach problems there as well?

  3. Thanks for the messages. It was a great adventure this yr. Hopefully some of you can come and join us next yr! The food at La Ruta is better for racers as it is more international. Most the food at The TransMexicana was Mexican and pretty rough on alot of the racers not use to it although the enchiladas with mole sauce is pretty danm good.
